Choosing the right intruder alarm.
Wired alarms
Reliable and low maintenance, ideal during a refurbishment or rewire when cables can be hidden in walls. Detectors and keypads are powered from the panel, so there are fewer batteries to change.
Wireless alarms
Quick to install in finished homes, with batteries that typically last a few years. Modern wireless systems use encrypted signals and report low batteries to the app, so you are not caught out.
Grades of alarm
Systems are graded from 1 to 4 for risk. Most homes suit grade 2, while businesses and higher value homes may need grade 3. We explain what your insurer asks for.
Where detectors go
Door contacts on entry doors, movement sensors covering hallways and stairs, and glass break or shock sensors on vulnerable windows. Ground floor rear rooms and side returns are common entry points in London terraces, so they get particular attention.
Intruder alarm maintenance and servicing.
We service and repair existing intruder alarm systems as well as installing new ones. A service visit tests every detector and door contact, the siren and strobe, the panel battery and the app connection, and replaces failing batteries. Faulty older panels can often be upgraded without rewiring the whole system.

Police response
Police response needs a unique reference number, issued only for systems installed and maintained by an NSI or SSAIB approved company. If you need it, we tell you at survey.

A monitoring centre can alert keyholders when the alarm activates. It suits businesses and empty properties.
Combined with CCTV
Alarms work well with CCTV, so you can see what triggered an alert. One app can often control both.
Most false alarms come from badly placed detectors, flat batteries or doors that do not close fully. An annual service tests every device, checks the batteries and the siren, and keeps the system reliable. Insurers often ask for proof of maintenance, so we leave a service record each visit and remind you when the next one is due.
