When does a wall
need rebuilding?
Many London boundary walls are a century old. After that long, ground movement, frost and failed mortar catch up with them: bulging, leaning, crumbling joints and blown brick faces.
A leaning wall beside a pavement is also a safety risk, and councils can require urgent repair where a wall endangers pedestrians.
Repair or full rebuild?
If the wall is upright and only the joints or copings have gone, repair is enough. If it is moving, or the faces have separated, rebuilding from the footing is the only lasting fix. Brickwork is led by a bricklayer with more than 30 years' experience, used to running both small crews and large teams.

Before
The original wall had reached the end of its life. Mortar had failed throughout and sections were becoming unsafe beside a public pavement.
During
The wall was taken down with barriers and pedestrian management in place. Sound brick was salvaged and the foundations inspected before rebuilding.

New wall in closely matched brick with concrete copings for weather protection, and the footpath left clean.
