The right boiler depends on how many bathrooms you have, how many people use hot water at once, your water pressure and the space you have for a cylinder. We look at all of it before recommending anything.
Combi boilers
A combi heats water on demand straight from the mains, so there is no hot water cylinder or loft tank. It suits most flats and smaller houses with one bathroom, and frees up the airing cupboard.
System boilers
A system boiler heats a stored cylinder of hot water, usually unvented and fed at mains pressure. It suits homes with two or more bathrooms where several taps or showers run at the same time.
Regular boilers
A regular or heat-only boiler works with a cylinder and cold water tanks in the loft. It is common in older London houses, and sometimes the right choice where water pressure is low or the existing system is being kept.
Hot water cylinders
Where a cylinder is needed we size it to the household and fit the controls, valves and discharge pipework an unvented cylinder requires.

Frequent breakdowns, parts that are no longer made, a yellow or lazy flame, rising gas use, radiators that take longer to heat and a boiler that loses pressure every few weeks are all signs that repair is becoming poor value. Installed, notified
and registered.
Every gas boiler must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The installation is notified under the Building Regulations, the flue position and condensate pipe have to meet the manufacturer's instructions and the regulations, and the Benchmark commissioning checklist is completed on the day. We register the manufacturer warranty for you and hand over the paperwork before we leave.
Landlords need a current gas safety record covering the new boiler. We can carry out the gas safety check at the same visit or at the next renewal, and add an EICR if one is due.
